MANIFESTO

In Australia, the first few cases of COVID-19 detected were from China and Iran - but they were intercepted and did not spread. So, much of what we have has actually arrived from Europe, directly or indirectly through the USA, where we thought everything was fine. It wasn't!

To me, the whole thing reflects our predisposition for believing that everything white is good/wholesome and everything else is a danger. That is not how it has evolved!

What is most shocking about this for many is that it has hit the most "developed" nations the hardest, and in such a short space of time, showing how really poorly they were prepared. That the mighty, invincible USA in particular should be brought to its knees by a little bug is just incomprehensible to many. The way we look at the world will not be the same after this.

I am not really surprised. I have seen a deep instability building up within the world global order for thirty years, where the responsibility for doing and making everything has been pushed onto client or peripheral nations while the rich ones bask in the sunshine. We are lucky, in one sense, to get this lesson early and in a way that gives our society a chance to evolve.
